While Tein has been around since 1985 they primarily focused on OEM suspension component production. In the early 1990’s Tein debuted the Type H damper and officially started producing for the aftermarket scene. The company name “TEIN” was named after a combination of the first two letters, “TE”CHNICAL “IN”NOVATION. Due to their successful vision of producing good quality for value they have become one of the dominant names in aftermarket coil-over suspension and now have offices world wide.
